Jimny, after some tips

Hey all, I have fairly recently been looking at buying a Manual older model used Jimny, (2000-2015) I am after some buying tips and what to look out for when buying. What are some of the main issues?
I am interested in giving one a test drive to ensure I actually like driving them, but there aren't any Manual Jimny's for sale close by, and I don't want to waste a sellers time and my own by travelling a long distance only to not like the drive.
I live in Ferntree Gully and if there is anyone within a 40 minute drive that is willing for me to have a test drive of their jimny I would really appreciate it!
