Aussie, Steve Riley from Leongatha has entered his home built Holden Ute in the 2019 Dakar Rally.
It is 4wd has a 6 litre v8 and his own suspension design. Check it out. Looks awesome.

The Dakar Rally starts next Sunday.

I spent quite a lot of time going over that car in Alice a couple of years ago- we were shooting an inboard jack setup on it. It's very impressive, and much better suited to Dakar than the Finke track. Hope he has a good run.
