Vitara banjo fuel filter 1997 swb g16b

Afternoon all. Before imlachs dragged my vitara away I neglected to remove the existing fuel filter with banjo fittings. Is it better to stick with the stock ie source replacement fittings or can I use a different type of filter that can take hose and clamps? this is for my sierra engine swap. Thanks.

I've used VL commodore filters before. They're cheap and work just fine.

VL filter working well. They fit perfectly into a bike drink bottle holder. Easy to mount. I've got an old composite cage but there are so many options out there.
