Tri Desert Tour 12th - 16th Sept 2016
Posted: Sun 17 Jul, 2016 12:43 pm
Rough plan for 5 days Mon to Fri. (I will be there earlier to snag a spot and possibly continue trip after)
Meeting in Pink Lakes Camp ground, near Underbool.
Hopefully catch a Sunset or Sunrise over the lakes.
Do some tracks through Murray Sunset NP to top end of Border Track.
Camping at a few choices, depending which route we choose.
Then head South on Border Tk, with a fuel stop at Pinaroo.
Depending on time Camp somewhere between Pinaroo and Red Bluff on Southern bit of Border Tk.
(This is the more known and harder section)
Try to spend 2 nights at Red Bluff to allow some walks to the look out on the bluff.
From this point there are safe routes home for those who need to leave,
and choices of completing bog holes section, or heading off into Big Desert and out through Wyperfield.
Definitely a 4wd trip, but I will be towing my camper.
Trip will be open to Suzuki Club, Cross Country Jeep Club and visitors.
A $10 park pass will be needed for the SA part, pay at entry.
See photos in the other thread from my last 2 trips to the area.
