Hey all,
i have a 90mdl SWB sierra with newly installed calmini 5"shackle reverse and 31" tyres. The gearing is now horrible plus losing use of fifth gear (just dies when put into fifth). i was wondering whether this is a common problem for the zook's? Also i have been doing research on putting some gears into the diffs (before going transfer gears) to try and revert to near standard gear ratio's. I was hoping for some insight on what gears to get??? Please Help.......

Re: zook gearing
easiest and cheapest way to fix your problem is to get some transfer gears from Low range off road in the U.S. they also have a high range reduction so will fix your on road gearing. diff gearing usually costs about the same money and doesnt give as effective results off road. You wont need both for the size tire you are running.
Re: zook gearing
Thanks for the info. Now i was not aware that reduction gears for the transfer would improve the road travelling gearing hence the reason why i wanted diff gears. Do they reduce even when in 2 wheel drive? Sorry if these questions sound a bit dumb i am somewhat of a noob.

Re: zook gearing
Most after market gears lower both high and low range ratios.
Check the figures with manufacturers, but some lower high range by 22% for eg
So yes this can help with 2wd

Calmini have a good rep.
Marks 4wd adaptors also.
I've not had personal experience, just hearsay.
