More Vitara newbie questions.....

Hi all, I'm looking through the for sale ads for a Vitara Estate. Whilst not ready to buy just yet I'm taking in as much info as I can on the vehicle. Most odometer readings are from 220,000km upwards, as to be expected. My questions are:
At what sort of mileages will the engine and/or auto box (if I end up with an auto) be needing work?
Are there any other things, Vitara related, to look out for when buying?
My driving will be light (as possible) solo touring on bitumen, dirt and gravel. No hard tracks or remote travel. I'm no mechanic at this stage...just want to get out of town and enjoy the sights, tenting here and there. Some group touring would be great at some stage too...
I will budget to have the vehicle worked over and everything replaced/repaired as needed, inc a new suspension.
I'm looking at Federal Couragia MTs at this point. 235/75R15. Good price and the forums are generally kind to them. Happy to be steered somewhere else....
