Trip leaders evening September 18th

Post by gwagensteve »

Greg and I are running a discussion and advice night for prospective trip leaders on the 18th of September. It's a opportunity to get together with experienced trip leaders and discuss how to plan and run a trip, what makes a trip successful, what to consider, standards, distances etc, convoy procedure, along with some talk about what happens when things don't go to plan. I'd rather it not get focused on this though. This night should be all about encouraging prospective trip leaders, not telling war stories about what went wrong.

I reckon almost anyone who hasn't yet run a club trip should have a think about whether they can make it along. More trips are good for everyone. We also need some existing trip leaders to come along and provide their input and feedback.

Where- Greg's shed, which is in Chadstone, about 10minutes from where the club meeting held. I'll let Greg put his address up in the club members section, not here in the public section.

What to bring- a chair, something to take notes, appropriate clothing to sit in a shed, some $ to cover dinner ($10-15 should cover it) and most importantly, a trip idea. It doesn't matterif it's a day trip, a social trip- whatever, maybe you want to run a copy of your favourite trip ever- it doesn't matter, so long as you bring an idea.

Time: I think from about 6.30 onwards. Greg might modify this to suit though.

Can I get attendees to confirm on here please, and check the members section for the address.

If you are a new member or serious prospective visitor who doesn't yet have full members access please PM me or Greg for address details.

Steve.

I know it's the off season but I think the club needs more trips happening and I hope to lead a couple in the coming year so I will be there or be queer, get used to it.
