Post updated to show Mikes trip details below

TRIP TITLE
Wonnangatta Valley Trip (aka Mike's High Country Trip)

TRIP DATE Saturday 29th to Sunday 30th March 2014

TRIP LOCATION:
Victorian High Country

TRIP DESCRIPTION
Start at Briagolong
Up towards the Pinnacles via Marathon Road
Billy Goat Bluff Track
Turning Right onto Wonnangatta Road
Then onto Conway Track or Crooked River Track (Medium/Easy)
Cynthia Range Track
Wombat Range Track
Down Herne Spur (with multiple river crossings)
Wonnangatta Track into the Valley
Camp overnight
Exit the next morning via Zeka Spur
Down to Licola and then home.

NOTES:
We will have to defer if there has been a week of heavy rain (rivers too high) or any chance of extreme fire danger
There are many other variants on this trip depending upon how we go including going through Talbotville - it all depends on time
Day 1 is the big driving day with much less work required on Day 2 so we should be home mid to late afternoon Sunday
The only medium part of this trip is the steep ascents and descents but we will have a talk about those as we get to them for anyone not experienced - just remember to pick a gear and stay in it and never touch the clutch if you have a manual. We will talk about stalling stops and starting in gear.
The roads are rocky but generally not slippery
The scenery is fantastic

TRIP RATING:
Easy / Medium

TRIP MEETING POINT:
Biagolong in the middle of town by the park - 8.30am (Best) to 9.00am (Latest)

ATTENDEE LIST:
Mike - Jimny
Richard - Sierra
Christover - Vitara
Steve- GV
Chen - GV
Wayne - Sierra

Just waiting for Wayne to sign up now - I am sure there is gold in those rivers!

OK so now the pressure is on. I will plan out a route. At least its a way off yet. Chris, we would certainly need to avoid the high fire rating periods.
