This is the second time these have been listed with no bids so far. I am hoping I might be able to haggle him down a little.

How much would I need to do / what would I need to do in order to get them to fit without putting in my 2" body lift?

A) you're going to need the BL, or lots of complicated guard work.

B)?However, I have an inkling those tyres are VERY old. The owner of them (Cameron- can't remember his surname- maybe Duffy?- nice guy) is an ex club member from the early 90's. I think he bought them around 1995. That would make them quite brittle. I don't think tyres were date stamped in the "modern" way until 2000, but consider that tyres have normally gone very hard by 10 years old. In the trade, tyres over 6 months old are suspect.

Ps, You'll note that in the photos, that 1.3 lwb has a BL on it.

PPs the coolest thing about that ad is the 1995(?) Suzuki club "rhino trophy" sticker on the front guard.

Steve.

Okay so perhaps those tires aren't the ones for me. I don't really have the money to spend on them anyway after buying a winch and a few other bits off Dan. I'll be able to drag myself through AT if I have to.

But keeping with the no BL idea I really want to try and have the car mold around my tires and not just sit on top of them.
So my current thinking is that I would need to extend the front / do a RUF conversion to get the front axle moved forward so bigger rubber will clear the firewall.
Then as you say I would need to perform some complicated guard surgery, I am more than happy to lose out on some space in the rear - I guess the trickiest part will be making enough room in the engine bay.
I guess some bigger bump stops will go in as well but want to try and avoid that as much as possible.

I know it's ambitious but that's the grand plan, and a 1.6L will go in there as well at some point.

You wont need to cut the rear inner guards, they have lots of space. I fitted 34x10.5 swampers with no rear guard work other than a bit of massaging with a hammer, and trimming the bottom corners a little. The front needed a bit more. I dont have a body lift either

I did have to put bump stop spacers in the back though, anyway for the front to clear the tyres I am running stock rears up front with extended shackles, cut the body mount tube thing back as much as I could and cut the outer guard basically from the top of the indentation above the wheel arch down to the front corner and back to make it look normal, then cut a wedge out of the inside edge of the inner guard to pull it up and cut the outside edge to make it meet the outer guard and welded it back together.

Bit hard to explain, i can show you when I see you next.
