Walhalla Easy / Medium Tour Weekend

TRIP DATE:
Saturday 19-May and Sunday 20-Apr 2012
Note the dates have changed from April due to a scheduling clash with another activity happening in Walhalla.

TRIP DESCRIPTION:
A relaxed trip to Walhalla and the surrounding areas.

We are planning for the trip to include the following activities:
1. A tour of the Long Tunnel Mine in Walhalla
2. A bit of sight seeing around the location of the World War 2 Aeroplane crash site
3. A bit of driving around the Deep Creek tracks

We might also drive past the Thompson Damn for a bit of a look see and a few other tracks in the area.

Accomodation Planning is still in progress, but is likely to be within the Walhalla / Rawson area where options from camping to 5 star hotels are on offer.

TRIP LOCATION:
Walhalla / Rawson

TRIP RATING:
Easy / Medium.

TRIP MEETING POINT:
Saturday morning in Moe.
Sunday morning meeting location TBA for any day trippers / late comers.

Brad, Given your experiences so far in the GV you should be OK as long as you keep out of the Deep creeks!

I agree. I'm sure you will be fine Brad.

If anything - it will be a hard trip for me - due to all the kms on the freeway

Anyone up for the walhalla ghost tour on the Saturday night?

I would be in for this,

Won’t have my car back on the road but still interested in 2WD in for social /sightseeing aspects.

Would also be keen on Matt suggested ghost tour if we get the numbers.

can i bring the WRX its AWD? It has a wading depth of 20mm but the flex is not too good and i think it needs a bigger tyre

I reckon Seonaid and I are in for this. We'll be in the road car too, so no 4WDing for us.
