Suzuki 4WD Club of Victoria

Can anybody tell me if Vitaras normally have bad manual gearbox whine. My original gearbox in my 1994 1.6 EFI SWB was bad, so I had it fully rebuilt not long ago. The rebuit gearbox is as bad, or worse, than the original. Is this whine common in the Vitara? Is there a good fix? Sould this whine have been fixed by the rebuild? I have tried 2 different types of oil with no success. Any feedback or tips would be appreciated.
