Harley and I will be competing in the Jeep. Should be an interesting weekend.
As part of the team entry we have an unlimited number of supporter entries which gets you discounted entry to the event for the whole weekend for just $20 and $22.50 for the saturday night pub dinner and camping Friday and Saturday night.
If you would like to attend please let me know and I will put you on our entry form. Normal spectator ticket cost is $20 per day.
If you would like to get involved in marshalling for the event the CCDA (Cross Country Drivers Association) is holding a marshall training day on May 1st. Contact me for more details.
This event is an entry level event but the action is the same standard as the other events. really good fun and Bulla is just near the airport so it's close to melbourne.

Well the Green Jeep is as ready as it's going to get for this comp! we had some issues getting our rear locker so that won't be in for this trip which is a bummer but it won't stop us!
Heaps of work done on the rig since AT, bit of bar work some sill protection work and lots of TLC to the engine.
Hope to see some of you there. You are guaranteed a laugh at least when we are on the stages!

Does this pic explain it?
Ahh we did well! The Jeep Survived the weekend but not without incident. The friday night stages were great fun. More gymkhana style technical driving than winch challenge. The last stage joined the two previous stages to make one long stage run backwards. It was quite a fast flowing course throguh the bottom of a gully. We were driving about 60-70km/h along a short 200m straight with an off camber left hander at the end heading back up the hill...about 6 or 7 vehicles smashed into a rock just before the turn. This is what we did above to the lower control arm.
We limped the XJ back to the finish box within the DNF time then headed back to camp where we were up until 3 am pulling the diff out, bashing straightening and welding control arm mounts back on and fixing everything up. We had spares so we chucked another arm in and off we went racing again the next morning.
1 st stage we popped the rear uni yoke saddles off. Stupidist design...4 x 6mm bolts holding the uni into the yoke. We replaced the uni and the straps and bolt and then proceeded to bust it again on the next stage. This time we had to go to sunbury to pick up another uni and we welded the straps on this time. It lasted the rest of the weekend.
We then had an electrical problem cause the car to shut off on another stage. Similar to AT. Although we had replaced all the major ignition parts, excpet the coil and ignition module...if it has one??
Overall it was the best fun I've had wheeling in a long time. The crew and competitors were absolutely awesome and everyone was hyped to be racing again after a fair spell due to council planning issues.
I highly suggest that if you guys are interested, jump on my pit crew for the next event. You get cheap entry all weekend and it's an absolute blast.

Nice work Dan. Those wheels look suprisingly good, in fact the whole Jeep looks bloody good!
Those stock control arms shouldn't be wheeled on

. You can do a U-bolt conversion to replace those shitty straps. A double cardan driveshaft would probably help take some load of the rear pinion uni too.
