jimny engine conversion
I was talking to one of your members at the Wandin 4wd show about putting in a 1.6 baleno engine in my 1999 jimny. Can anyone can give me some information on what is involved in this conversion.
Re: jimny engine conversion
you'll need an adaptor to fit the motor to the box, benT from outerlimits makes one for a sierra, that you can use.
you will have to use the jimny sump and oil pick-up and drill out the holes on the drivers side engine mount to get it to line up
i would use all of the jimny manifolds, injection and sensors. this does work as i've made a 1.6 run on a jimny computer
the hardest part is getting the power-steer and air-con to fit, the two bolts that mount to the head won't line-up.
