PS.
I bent it already.
A touch of rock rash on the guard.
Claire forgave me once I promised to cut off the bits that hangs down too far

Very happy with its performance so far, but needs a tad more weight, or less spring. It a bit boucy on rocks.

Chris,

If you run very soft slipper springs remember to run bumpstops to prevent tyre/guard or Ubolt/chassis contact.

As it is I can jump on it with a lot of effort, and it clears the U bolts no probs.
I doubt I'll soften the springs, cos by the time I add floor weight etc, it may be fine.
There is room for bumpstops if I go that route, good thinking.

It's amazing how many trailers use the guards as bumpstops, and the suspension will move far further in use than it ever does static.

A couple of sierra front bumpstops, appropriately spaced, on the chassis will make for a happier trailer.

Thats what I'll probably do, as I need to get one for frog anyway.
There is a limitting factor of the slipper hitting the rear crossmember, tho it hasn't come close yet, it is a possibility.
Will have to check that all out properley when closer to finito.
Theres plenty of solutions if thats an issue.
I've allowed guard clearance to be ruffly that of the spring bolts to chassis, tho as you say, measurings never as good as real world drivings.

After fitting floor section, which took longer than expected, I did the bounce it around to check for rattles.
10 minutes of hitting, shaking, leaning on floor to see what was rattling, I gave up. :?:
Then while getting off the trailer, I noticed my car door was open, and leaning on the other bit of galv leaning on the wall. :o
No floor rattles, and only wasted ten minutes, and got a good laugh at myself

I have trimmed the offending guard metal out the way, and all else seems cool.

More pix to come, got too dark to get any today.

I got the sides and front all cut and drilled.
Pity sides couldn't be cut in one length.
Got just enough for a tailgate left over, but will also be in two pieces.
