Hi Darcy

I spoke to Jon to get confirmation. If you want to camp with us and then drive separately then that is fine but if you join the convoy for even the Saturday and Sunday the club will need to get a temporary member fee from any non family members in your car.

You are however welcome to join for the two days, that part is not a problem, we just need to get insurance for any passengers if they are not direct family members.

Thanks to David we will be able to get access to harry's Hut on day 2. This is a very historic hut but on private property so not normally accessible. See some of the history of the hut here.

All attendees now confirmed. Lets hope the good weather holds out.

Also because I have had a couple of questions about this just confirming that the meeting point is the Dargo Pub at 11am Friday 16 March (next week). Try to refuel prior to 11am.

I just booked a room in Sale for Thursday evening so I will leave after work Thursday and drive as far as sales. Saves a very early start Friday morning. That means I should be in Dargo by 10.00 am or even earlier. Start time remains 11.00 am but we might be able to get the paperwork and briefing partly out of the way early if nothing else.

Hi All.
Given mobile reception is ragged at best around Dargo, what is the UHF channel we'll be using? At least 15km+ out there can be some contact between late comers. Or maybe the not so late comers can be repeater stations :)

Hi Richard

We will be on channel 26. You can also phone the general store or the pub and get them to relay a message.

General store (03) 5140 1219
Pub 03) 5140 1231

i am sure they won't mind too much.

Try my mobile anyway because there is some fleeting coverage in Dargo. Text messages can get through when voice calls fail so text as well.

A fire started today north of Licola, 9km from the fire fighting air strip for those that know the area. There are 22 vehicles responding so we will have to keep an eye on that one over the next few days. It is not yet under control. I will call the rangers tomorrow.

High temps now forecast for Melbourne for Sunday but it won't make it up into the mountains where the forecast is mid 20's at most.

I will keep you posted of any developments.
