Great pics fellas. I reckon theres ample proof to show our wives we were on a high country trip and not at the pub with our girlfriends.
The Macalister and Avon valleys don't have much gold. I saw some promising country and some interesting rock formations. But didn't have enough time to do any prospecting. Did a quick pan in Valencia ck at our lunch stop on Saturday. Did'nt really expect to find anything and didn't.
Got my detector out quickly on Sunday morning at Bryces Gorge camping grnd. Old camping grounds can have old coins and interesting relics. But all I found was bottle and can tops, bits of foil and wire.
All the creeks and rivers that flow into Eildon have gold to some extent. Took 2 quick samples from the Howqua river, Found about 3 grams of lead in the first pan and a colour of gold in the second. Reckon I could have found a far bit more in the Howqua, but we didn't have time. I just wanted to show Chen and Martin how to pan for gold.
Can't wait for next time.
Regards. Wayne.

Thanks Chris and Steve for the video material. Chris you did well to find some slightly more interesting bits. The camera turns itself off after a certain period and I have not worked out what that period is yet so I only got video when I remembered to turn it back on. Anyway you have done a nice job. Thanks for putting that up.That is a skill I do not have!
