Hey Dan - since you are navving on Sat and Sun, give us an idea about where we will be entering and exiting the forests - that way we can plan fuel and bakery action.
Hey Greg,

Thanks for all of your organisation, should be a ripper trip this year. Has it been raining at all in Melbs this last couple weeks? I've been in Tassy...

pinched from an earlier post:

Here's the SAT & SUN Driving Plan:

Saturday - Neerim
Start in Neerim South (fuel is available). Main St in Town. Won't miss us. Start time TBA probably 8.30am meet for 9am departure.
Spend the day driving around Neerim. Couple of good tracks, "Fenceline, Dunny Track, Ellis, Old winch challenge drive through creek and up steep winch track". The ellis track area has about 5 different exits from easy to ridiculous and there will be something to challenge everyone.

Finish day with Pizza / Pub meal
Optional Canary from Warrigal Tog
Stay in Neerim South (pending accom options)

Sunday - Labertouche
Possible fry up brekky?
Start - We have two options - Either head to the highway and meet at the BP Servo and then backtrack back into the bush. Anyone joining us on this day?
Option two is to start at the motorbike parking area on Forest Rd at the intersection of Robertsons creek track. From here we will head north and hit up some of the classics in the area. Rough plan will be Robertsons Creek Track, Down Bullock Link Track, back onto forest rd head north...Options here dependant on how keen people are...is Gentle Annie Track and then up onto Walkers Track where Harley and I got benighted just before new years, an offshoot of walkers gets us to a hidden gem of soft bulldozered clay wombat holes which would challenge a rock crawler(have looked and there is no mention of this track being closed even though it's had some DSE attention - There is a winch wall exit - if you can drive it I'd be surprised - or keep heading north and onto the powelltown rd and drive woodall track from north to south. Crazy up hill rock and clay hill climb, V.steep...and then head back north into Warburton.

it will all depend how long we spend on certain tracks and how keen people are to have a big day. Flexibility is the key!

Finish day in Yarra Junction / Warburton (more food and accom in warburton)
Optional european movie viewing

Ok we have a problem with our sunday driving day. Just been talking to a friend and checking up on track conditions and came across this on the parks vic website:

Bunyip State Park

All 4WD tracks in Bunyip State Park are currently closed due to storm damage.
Roads and tracks will be re-opened after assessment and repair work is undertaken. The nearest four wheel driving and trail bike riding area is Yarra State Forest east of Yarra Junction or Latrobe State Forest east of Neerim South.

A friend has confirmed that every track we want to drive currently has a big sign saying it's closed.

We are going to have to make some other arrangements for the sunday.

I had a look at the map and phasmid, walkers track and woodall track fall into another park area so these might still be ok and might be worth a look at still on the way to other locations.

dan and i sat down and discussed the sunday Labertouche/Gembrook driving action - we now think that we should be ok for a good day out.

Ok - now for the important stuff:

Fuel Points: Neerim South and Noojee both have bowsers.
Bakery / Cafe: Neerim South and Noojee both have Cafe / Bakery type places
Breakfast: Sort yourself out for the Saturday. Noojee has a Cafe that should be open for brekky on Sun and Mon.
Dinner: Noojee has Pub and Outpost Restaurant (The Toolshed)

SATURDAY:
Meeting: 9am in Neerim South
Leaving Forest via Neerim (fuel)
Dinner in Noojee

SUNDAY:
Meeting: 9am in Noojee
Leaving Forest point is unknown
Dinner in Noojee

MONDAY:
Meeting: 9am in Noojee
Leaving Forest point is Glenburn.
Dinner at Mum and Dads

Note: Meeting means you are ready to go. Not you are here and looking for a petrol station, or you are in Healsville wondering where Noojee is.

Any issues or unknowns? Give me a call - 0405 321 916

Dan - bring a spare Petrol cap.

Just spoke to Parks Vic in Gembrook. no chance of MVO access....tracks are closed indefinitely until the insurance assessment comes back and they fix the tracks again.

No mention of them closing the tracks permanantly, only until the weather dries up and they can get machinery in there.

Good news is that Western track and Gentle annie have re-opened and have just been graded. Could be a bit of fun hitting up Gentle Annie in the wet on a nicely slick graded surface!
