Hi Fellas.
Hi Wotherzook. I only just saw your post, sorry for the late response.
The minimum you need for our trips is a rated snatch strap and 2 rated bow shackles, fire extinguisher and first aid kit.
A compressor and uhf are also useful, but not essential.
Also if not a financial member of our club a $15 fee for insurance. Pay this on the day. The fee covers any family members riding in your car for the day.
But not non family members, they will have to pay also.

Hope that does not discourage you from coming, new people are always welcome on our trips. :D

Hi Fellas.
The meeting point for this trip is The Lost Children Memorial Park. 9.00am
It is on the Midland Hwy (A300) on the left as you start heading out of Daylesford towards Creswick / Ballarat. (still inside the 60 Km zone)
It is well sign posted, there is an historic marker sign post just before you get there.
Coffee, food and fuel are all available in Daylesford.

Some GPS might show the memorial at the place where the children were eventually found, near the road to Trentham.
Don't go there.
That is not our meeting point!

The lost children of Daylesford was a tragic event in the history of Daylesford. The story is a fascinating look at life in a frontier gold mining town in Victoria in the 1860's.
Google "Lost Children of Daylesford" there is lots of info.

That story is pretty mysterious and freaky, I guess everyone has their own version of what happened, I don't think they were lost but that's a discussion for the campfire 🎅

Good stuff Wayne I was totally unaware of the story.

Yes Wayne looking forward to putting the ole SJ through the hoops.
Ive learnt my lesson that recovery gear doesn't mean A glass of red and a fag .
Ive acquired the appropriate stuff , she's up to date .
My only issues are a handbrake that requires Arnold Shwartzenaegger to pull it up ( new cable needed), and a noisy drive train.
Should be OK for this trip.
I live in the Daylesford area so if it all goes pair shaped i can just walk home.

See you all tomorrow.

Richard P

ps really looking forward to seeing the new Jimny on the trail.

Hi Fellas.
Weather looks good for tomorrow. It will be a bit dusty, but can't be helped.
As always, anyone who decides not to come or is running late please let me know.

Looking forward to seeing a big turnout in Daylesford in the morning. :D

Hi Fellas.
Wow, so many cars. 12 cars, old and new for this trip. Great to see some new faces and to see wives and girlfriends driving. :D
Thanks to all who came and hope to see you all again.
Clearly there is a need for some easy trips.
Regards. Wayne.
