Ha! just saved me typing that stuff out... on the one weekend I'm sitting on the couch with a cold.

I will say that since I wrote that I don't think Skiman exists any more for hire of Sorels. You'd need to do your own research on that. Sorels are now much cheaper to purchase than they were as they're now made in China rather than Canada. The are the single biggest item for being comfortable in the snow.

Everything else is still relevant.

I've seen many pairs of sorels when watching Fargo without even knowing it. 250 odd at the moment. I rearely visit the snow so a pair would last a lifetime. Very helpful write up Steve.

We bought ours many years ago and they're (obviously) still like new.

Another thing that's not apparent about them is the rubber compound and tread pattern is designed to grip snow well.

I would like to stay in a hut if we can find one. In the past I have camped in a single man tent and found it to be fine so Liz and I will have a tent just in case there's no hut available. I don't mind but if we plan to camp and don't find something (hut) all good.

I found some well priced sorels so I'll have warm feet. I've decided I'll bring my swag but pop it inside an old dome tent. Better (I hope) than a Tarp or awning over it. Going to be fun. Can't wait.

So the plan (to be confirmed at the meeting) is meet at Jamieson at 0800 and fuel up.
Proceed up the hill at 0830ish and find a hut to sleep/camp at depending on how many people and kids come along.
So we need locations of huts and camp sites. If any one has anything they want to bring cookers ect let the groop know so as we don't have cars taking five of the same thing.
Cheers

I'm keen on heading to Jamieson on the Friday as well. Unless the forecast for the weekend is unusually warm I'm going to leave my son at home. I still think I'm going to fill the car with too much stuff but it'll be my maiden snow trip.
