Thanks for all your kind support.
It is 3pm wednesday, and I am back home.
No major probs with the surgery, apart from a bit of blood leakage over night. But soon fixed with a pressure bandage.
My surgeon opted for see thru sticky stuff, rather than a bandage.
Better for germ protection, maybe?
Got to return in 5 days to have dressing removed, then again a few days after, to remove the few non disolving stitches.
In surgeons words "all went very well and we are all very happy"
I was under anaesthetic for longer than expected (by me) and I suffered a little from that. But no pain at op site (yet)
Heck of a headache, which passed a couple of hours after eating, but a sore throat that is still with me?
On a lighter note, surgeon was held up a few minutes, as the nurses had to attend his wounds first..... he'd cut his ear while shaving
I told him he'll have trouble facing his surgeon mates when they find out
Strange thing is, that didn't worry me, cos he was kind, supportive, open and honest, and gained my trust very quickly.
Photo looks a little gruesome, so don't look if you don't wish.
No bandage to hide blood.
