I'm surprised/impressed we have so many takers for Friday/camping - some kind of record

However, this has created a problem - Greg is committed to travel up on Saturday and it's going to be hard to put in a permit for a single car traveling up to meet us on Saturday morning - single cars travelling alone is kind of what the permit system was supposed to prevent.

Harley, how likely are you to make Friday? I want to close the permit off by the end of the week (I don't want to leave it right up to the 14 days) and I think we need three cars for safe travel on Saturday and ensure we'll get a permit.

If there is anyone who was dragging their heels about confirming (and especially if you plan to come up for Saturday for a look), please confirm with me ASAP. I can't add people once the permit goes in.

Hey steve, I would like to come, I can leave melb by about 5pm on the Friday. Does that make me too late for the Friday ascent? If so put me down for sat. Not sure which car to take, do you know if you will be driving anything hard up there or do you just play around on the summit?

Yes, 5pm is too late for a Friday ascent. The permit idea is that people don't drive up there alone.

You could take the rodeo, but you won't have 1/2 as much fun. Think of it like sand- you can drive sand with anything, but if you had to choose....

Steve, I am 99% sure i will be coming up the mountain on Friday morning. Its more to do with my line of work, sometimes i have to travel interstate or OS on very short notice. Hence while I am a non commital bastard. Let me put it this way, if it meant I had to go back down the mountain on Saturday to pick up Greg (with 1 more car of course) I (we) could do that. I assume it is not a HUGE trip (say 2-3 hours one way?) Of course this depends on how the permit is set up? Could you put me and another car on the 2 permits to go and pick up greg??? We have to look after the Pres!

Neo I have applied for a passenger in my rig, the girl is umming and ahhing about coming along i will try and get her to decide and then let you know if my spare seat is available in the zook. PS byo ear plugs/ipod/muffs for the drive up!
