If stupidly hot, fire ban or fire risk, I will leave trip early, before gets bad.
Long weekend looks promising. Hoping to go to Otways camping if not too hot.

Cool change is forecast for late afternoon, with 35km/h Northerlies.
The change is expected to bring thunderstorms, so dry lightning strike and localised strong winds with the storms are quite possible.

It's EXTREMELY dry in the forest at the moment - probably as dry as 2009. There are/have been three fires in the Kinglake Ranges today, quite apart from what's going on in Bunyip.

Hi Fellas.
I was working in Toolangi this morning, Sat March 2. I was surprised how strong the wind was from N/e.
Its up to the trip leader....But I reckon it should be called off. :(
Steve is right.
Even if the cool change comes, it could bring a strong Southerly, which can be dangerous. (remembering Ash Wednesday)

ok i think the fact that we are weighing up the risk is silly. we shouldnt even risk it if there is a risk. worst casw scenario we just wait another week so this trip is postponed until next sunday.
