Well I'd get a Vitara for that 😎
Thanks
Chris.

Is it doable..

Do you have to change gearing etc....

Thinking about doing it start of 2020...
Anything is doable, but you won't be able to legally build a Jimny with 32's unless you "upgrade" to larger axlehousings from a Hilux or similar, otherwise, you're limited to a 28" tyre. However, with swapping in axles, you will have to make the cars safety systems believe that nothing has changed, so the wheel speed sensors etc will need to be adapted to the new axles. It will be a very complex process to satisfy an engineer that the car is safe and legal.

Yes, 100% gearing will need to be changed - but that's a given - gearing would need to be changed for offroad use with any tyre over 28".

As the vehicle is post 1996, there are very heavy restrictions on body modifications as all internal structure (inner guards etc) are considered part of the crash structure. This will push you towards running the car higher to avoid structural modifications, but you will need to pay for stability testing and brake testing.

You will need very deep pockets and be very tenacious and patient. I suspect the finished vehicle will easily owe you $50K+

Of course you could just throw gearing, airlockers and cromo axles in it and cut to fit the 32's, but when you're starting with a ~$30K car, the consequences of a defect taking the car off the road (possibly permanently) are pretty significant.

Accessories like a winch and sliders are neither here or there.

I think it would be much easier to build a G series jimny with the 89 adr stamp with 33s, hiluxish diffs and just use a fibreglass shell for the new jimny.

Unless the engineer decides that's an ICV.

They are 27.3" cheese cutter standard, so going for 32" will need plenty of mod and engineering.

Yes Thanks for all the info that's why I asked it's pretty much not possible.

Might try in 89 Vitara with Hilux diffs and start from there.
Thanks
Chris.

I’ll start a new thread in the tech section this evening. This is getting interesting. *rubs hands together*
