Chance are high that I'm potentially out, not calling it yet though, really want to be on this trip.

Have had some major transmission/clutch issues is morning.
Driving to work my clutch pedal just flopped to the floor and became very soft, and with the pedal pressed in I'm getting a grinding noise.
When the pedal is released no noises, stays and in and will drive fine.

I'm not crazily mechanically minded so if anyone can shed some help that would be great.
I would prefer to fix the issue myself but as I said I don't think I'd have the skills on my own, if anyone was willing to lend any insight that would be greatly appreciated.

broken clutch cable. takes about 20 minutes to fix.

You can check if it is the cable by having someone press the clutch while you look underneath to see if the lever on the bell housing is moving. It is not a really expensive part and suggest you get one from Suzuki. I carry a spare but it is in the car on the way to lake Eyre right now (without me!).

Ended up being my clutch. So just finished up a clutch replacement. Cable was fine. All good for the trip now. Glad it happened now and not in the snow.
