G'day.

How did the trip go?
Would have been a bit warm (38+ in Coldstream).

Attendees:

Me
Greg
Mitch
Jon & Jay
Andrew (ajsr)
Steve & Bob (Feroza... briefly)

Mock and Noel couldn't make it in the end.

Weather was actually fine - it was warm, but we didn't have the strong winds in the forest. Change came through just as we airing up. It was quite dusty though.

Steve (prospective new member) had a bit of trouble in the soup bowl off Glenburn track - the front diff broke  For a while it was hard to diagnose as it jammed up and would lock the car up completely. He was able to winch it out and I towed him back to Marginal, but not before I managed to lay Piggles over. No Damage, and Andrew had it back on its wheels in a jiffy.

We ran up marginal to "Jon's track" :P Which was pretty loose - plenty of scrabbling to get to the top. We ran back down to marginal, then up to see what remained of killer hill/fenceline (all gone - we knew killer hill had been shut but we were insure about the fencline)

We headed south to cockpit creek/blowhard but they've been heavily graded, so we ran straight for Rocky, which is still a bit easier than ideal, but was fun enough.

In all honesty, a reasonable medium trip, but nothing that really stretched our group in the dry. Better than sitting at home though. :) I think this area really needs wet weather to be worth a visit in it's current state.

It was also a test run for Jinxie, Mitches new toy, and the first run for my car post coils/floater. Both cars performed very well, with no mechanical issues.

Steve.

Thanks for the day out Stevie... It was a good warm up for AT.

It was also very exciting to see Mitchie out for the first time in two and a half years behind the wheel of this own car - and no trip-ending breakage to deal with either which is always nice.

It does raise the question though - is there enough driving in toolangi to fill up day one of the tour?
