Thanks all for the comments and tips. I’ve made a start on this. Head has been skimmed at High Port Cylinder heads, Ferntree Gully. $100.
Had already purchased a gasket kit so going with that.
Noted on videos some people use a drill and brush to clean the head, that seemed like a big no, no to me. I used a flat block with light sandpaper to keep it flat. Have used a straight edge and it all seems ok.
Will be putting it together shortly.

Do you have pics of the process you have followed Steve? Can you do a presentation in Dec on this?

No sorry. only 1 before photo.

job is all done now. only had 1 issue in that the distributor didn't slide back in the same way it came out so timing was out. Took me a bit to figure out what the issue was.
