Just a reminder that there are limited places on this trip and if you don't put your hand up RIGHT NOW you might miss out. So far I count 15 cars confirmed (3 viczookers & 12 auszookers), so there's maybe 2 or 3 spots left.

Mike, I've just realised there are two different dates for this trip; 5th thru 7th (in the post title) and 4th thru 7th (in my July update). Will you be doing the 3 or 4 days? Sorry for any confusion.

Because I don't work, I will head over earlier, and take a slow cruisey drive.
On Thursday or Friday.
Happy to come out to Beachport to guide people in if needed.
There was mobile coverage there last year, but got a bit low strength at night..

I have taken the Friday 4th and Monday 7th off work. I intend to leave Melbourne on the Friday morning. I intend to head back first thing Monday morning unless the weather is really bad or I have had enough dune driving in which case I might head back Sunday afternoon and use Monday to clean the car.

Not a fan of long distance convoys, feel it's better to travel at your own pace. My plan is the same as Mike's, leave Friday morning and return Monday. Still planning to take the Sierra, but if the weather looks bad, might be soft and take the GV.
Jon, re the reliability of your car, take it for a run on the Peninsula Fwy, if it can run for an hour at 100kmh without leaking water or oil or fuel, it should be able to run for the 5 hours it takes to get to SA.

Every good trip involves last minute spanner spinning.
I had to rebuild rear diff and axles the week before last years Beachport trip.
