Dan and Harley Do Readies 4x4 Mania winch challenge

Post by dank »

Man what a weekend, It was an absolute blast.

We raced on short course winch challenge stage based around the start and finish in the mud racing arena at Heathcote Park raceway. There was a large fence jump, fast flowing open sections, a long water hole, more rutty muddy stuff, dry rock crawling and BIG ruts.

The jeep loved it.

Here's a vid of the last heat we ran when the airbag deployed when we endoed it off a big 6ft hump in the track before the winch wall. Quality viewing. And no the smoke is not the jeep catching fire, just the residual gas from the airbag deployment!

some more I wrote on auszookers....

Hey Guys, Bloody great weekend of wheeling. The organisers put on easily the best event in the last few years down here in VIC. The combination of Mud Racing and Winch Challenge events being run at the same time worked really well. There was no downtime in abotu 4 hours of racing, always something happening.

The short Course OBC style winch challenge stage was one of the best I've raced on. It had a cyclone fence jump, long waterhole, not so deep mud, flat out open last, rock crawling , BIG ruts, squeezing between trees and one Mega Winch wall to finish the stage inside the stadium.

We had some early issues by not running high enough pressures in the front wheels and lost a bead and bent a rim on the first heat but we fixed the rims and came back to win our last two heats outright but prob copped a few penalties.

We also endoed the Jeep on the last hump before the winch wall and set the airbag off it was such a big hit. Normally we pull the relay for the bag but forgot this time.

Here's the incab from our last heat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2H-hmfEfBc4
