Wombat Drive Sat 30/08

Hi guys I was planning on running a trip in the Wombat on Saturday 30th August. I don't know the wombat very well so this will be like a pre run, to try and find some good tracks in the area. The standard of the trip will depend on what cars attend. We will play in interesting areas but if not all cars can drive a particular section we will turn around.

I was thinking about running it as an afternoon evening drive followed by a camp at my parents house, which would go something like enter the forest at 12:30 and drive till 9:00. Or if people prefer it can be ran as a normal day trip.

I may come up after work. I have some maps if needed. In the future I will be running alot of trips there to. We have bought land near by. Toolern vale.

It was decided that this trip will run as a afternoon/night drive, I have a couple of mates coming out who are new to 4wding and drive very standard cars so the afternoon part of the trip will be used to get to know what is around the area and have an easy drive. We will then use the night part of the drive to drive stuff a little more challenging, but again it depends on the vehicles we have. (Not going to make anyone commit to a track). We can then head back to my house and have some well earned beers by a fire?
We will be meeting outside of the Telegraph hotel, on the corner of Hamilton St and Gisborne Melton Rd in Gisborne (right next to the main roundabout) at 12:00 on Saturday 30th of August.
Please inform me if you wish to come, and if you will be staying the night, as I will organize some food, for dinner/breakfast.

I'm looking forward to it...... tracks at night just add something to the experience IMO.

Was initially skeptical but have now been on two night drives ( one in Wombat with Mitch ) and enjoyed every moment.

Would like to stay overnight, is there room to pitch a tent or whatever ?

I am a maybe, depending on how Claire pulls up after her dental treatment.
If we come, will camper trailer be ok on the 4wd day trip, and is there room to leave it behind for night run??

I am very unlikely to come, but I reckon it is ok to dream

Yeh mightymouse there is plenty of room to put a tent up, and you can bring you trailer christover.
