from opening page:grimbo wrote:Curious to know if the members section is getting alot of use with the change over to this new format? As obviously the guest section isn't. Not having a go, just wanting to know if the financial members have embraced the new format

Re: shutting down yahoo
well I suppose it's good to see the member section being used, pity the public sections seems to be dead

Re: shutting down yahoo
And this is my main concern for moving here from Yahoo!!!billbarbas wrote:Its only 60 bucks to stay in touch!
While it may be all warm and fuzzy behind "the green door",
out here it is a ghost town, (just to remind you guys, out here is where all the prospective new members are), and I am here to tell you, BORING

We are not presenting ourselves, as well as we could to the outside world.
Peter.
Re: shutting down yahoo
also my concern. The sudden disappearance of any activity to the outside world and likely lack of info will be a problem I reckon

Re: shutting down yahoo
By making sure we have a clear presence on outerlimits, 4wd monthly etc, this should act as our public face.
Which is partly why Yahoo traffic faded off, cos most people wanted a greater supply of info etc available on these sites.
Most unhappy are the email only users so far, and those worried about loss of tech from old site.

Yes I agree, I am missing the point, I can not see how putting up a tall fence to keep the public out, helps us communicate more effectively than before on Yahoo, I can see the merit in some cases where privacy is required, but as i seem to be in the minority I will let it take it's course and see what happens.mugginsmoo wrote:you are all missing the point,
we want people to come to the meetings and then on trips, so that they can see for them selves what we are about. not some web based pre-conceived idea.
forum is not here to replace the likes of "outers", its here for the members to communicate effectively,
we are not looking for members from Botzwana or "total web wheelers", we are here for Victoria as a Suzuki and Miscellaneous club 4x4.
Peter.
Re: shutting down yahoo
I'm with you Pete, many people can't make it to meetings for various reasons and unfortunately web access is their only means of gathering info about clubs.
