New the time would come that Xoe would be retired.
Now to decide part out, or parts over to a new chassis/shell
Easy to see smaller repaired section from years back has added to the crackings

Re: Oh Dear Xoe Cracked Up
That's a shame Chris.
All things considered, swapping everything over to another one might be pointless if it's going to suffer a similar failure. It's not unheard of and your touring use (long distances at high load) isn't going to help.
I know they have their own problems, but I wonder if a V6 (or a GV) has a stronger chassis in that area?

Re: Oh Dear Xoe Cracked Up
I am also considering the idea of a seachange.
Selling camper, parting Xoe and bulding a pop top hilux type unit
Has served me well.
7 years of terrific trips, 3 desert trips, numerous high country and local trips.
Not actually sad, more like motivated to get on with plans that have been on simmer for some time

Oh Dear, now I've cracked up.
Had to give in to old age sometime.

You won't regret it. I've had one of those on my wish list to replace the Fairmont for a while now. Much like the Sierra they are a very capable and mostly overlooked 4x4. Enjoy.

This helps keep prices down, which was one motivating factor.BZOOK wrote: mostly overlooked 4x4.
