Thanks Richard. Louis also could not get the time off so if the dates don't change we have:

Mike - Jimny
Chris - Vitara
Adam - Sierra (new member)
Steve - Defender
Wayne - Sierra
Tony - Land-cruiser (will come as a temporary member)
Martin G - Sierra

So there are currently 7 leaving room for one more at this stage. I will be speaking to the Dargo rangers next week and then we will just watch the weather and fire warnings etc before confirming in the week ahead of the trip so watch the forum for updates.

Three fires started today in the area we are planning to go through (or nearby to those tracks anyway). I will be watching these over the next week. I also plan to call the rangers on Wednesday for an update on the fires and track conditions. If the fires are not under control or if new ones start we will need to postpone. Keep an eye on the forum for updates.

Good news is that so much rain has been falling on the fire affected areas that the Parks people have not been able to get into the area to check the situation. I spoke to a ranger at Dargo this morning and he expected the rain had put the fires out but this cannot be confirmed yet. They are going to give me a call later this week. So all going well our trip will not be affected.

Can those that are planning to take part in all three days please let me know.

Rob - yes there is room. What vehicle do you have and can you give me a call on 0423 824 504 to discuss your experience. Are you a full club member? If not you can attend as a temporary member.

Attendance list is now:

Mike - Jimny
Chris - Vitara
Adam - Sierra (new member)
Steve - Defender
Wayne - Sierra
Tony - Land-cruiser (will come as a temporary member)
Martin G - Vitara
Rob - ??

Thanks Chris and Wayne

Good news is the fires are out and there is not a lot more rain forecast so the rivers should be dropping now. It is looking good at this stage. I have spoken to the rangers at Dargo and got the run down on the tracks. We might have to play it by ear a little as we go as I am not that sure of some of the travel times but I think we can find something more challenging this time. Billy goat Bluff is not is really good shape so we will definitely leave that for Day 3 for those that want more of a challenge.

List now looks like this:

Mike - Jimny (3 days)
Chris - Vitara (3 days)
Adam - Sierra (new member)
Steve - Defender
Wayne - Sierra (3 days)
Tony - Land-cruiser (will come as a temporary member) (3 days)
Martin G - Vitara
Rob - Vitara (will come as a temporary member)(2 Days)

Keep watching this thread for updates particularly from mid next week onwards.

Sorry Mike, I'm going to have to pull out. We're housesitting in town, I have an all day shoot on Monday and can't juggle work, a weekend away, packing, unpacking and prepping for the shoot. Paying work has to win out I'm afraid.

I was really looking forward to it :(

Hope you have a great trip.
