Hi Fellas.
I would like to learn a little about Mig welding. Also very interested in adjusting/setting up a ring and pinion. That would be worth the admission fee alone.
Regards, Wayne.

What's the fee? Listening to me drone on for hours?
I'm keen to see what's involved I doing a pinion. I've never had one out.
Happy to do some welding stuff. It's the break over point from being a consumer to being a fabricator. Once you're a fabricator, you're never a victim to what you can buy off the shelf.

Re: Tech Weekend- Kinglake, 17/18 Jan 2015
So, current confirmed attendees are:
Luke
StevenD34
Mitch
Mike
Leigh
Matt
Wayne
Jon165
Jonno
Please confirm by Thursday at the latest if you wish to attend. If anyone needs my address shoot me a PM.
I need to know who is planning on staying the night on Saturday.
Topics:
Jon165 will be running the ring and pinion setup tutorial
There (like always!) will be a possibly baffling suspension tech discussion
Mig welding looks to be popular
I'll be doing some stuff about part design/fabrication
Please bring:
Lunch provisions. The BBQ will be available for anyone who wishes to use it.
Beverages
We have pretty reasonable pizza back in town (after 5 years!) They also do steaks etc. I reckon its easiest to do a food run on Saturday evening for anyone that wants in.
I'll do a fry up for anyone staying Saturday morning (hence why I need numbers)
Format:
Please try to have something you would like to ask about. More questions = a better tech day.
We won't be stopping for a formal lunch - it just chews up heaps of time. People are welcome to cook/eat whenever they want during the day.
Bring a chair
Bring your camera/notepad/laptop etc. It's a good opportunity to take photos of things for reference later.
Keep an eye on the weather. Kinglake is cooler than Melbourne and there's often a surprisingly cold southerly blowing. Bring a jumper/jacket.
Steve.

As I expected
Oh, forgot to mention we will be having a look at what's inside a transfer too. I think mike57 was going to bring a faulty jimny case to compare with the gear drive case.

Yes, I will bring my chain case with a stretched chain. I am interested is seeing what damage has occurred as a result of the slipping chain. I am guessing I will need to reuse this one at some stage. Just interested in opening it up and taking a look, nothing more than that.

You can have my Jimny case if you want a spare one Mike.Mike57 wrote:I am guessing I will need to reuse this one at some stage.
I am pretty busy next weekend, but I will try and pop in at some stage for at least a little while.
