Thanks Steve for leading this big 10 car convoy. Good weather, beautiful scenery, a bit history, easy but fun drive.

Thanks Steve for an enjoyable day. For a relative novice it was challenging in a stock GV with highways. I bottomed out a couple of tines but no damage was done. I think my first ever river crossing and navigating over the fallen tree were the highlights for me.
Thank you to everyone who provided me with some valuable advice on how to modify the old girl and I certainly value your expertise. I will have to get this done before tackling anything more difficul.
Thanks again.

Hi Steve

Would you be able to post up a list of the tracks we went on for future reference. Much appreciated if you find time to do that. Thanks.

I spoke to Tony today and he tells me he damaged two tyres on this trip and it cost him $800. He even reduced his pressures to 35 PSI. He thinks it happened on the rocky area where we took a look at the tunnel entrance just after lunch. I saw the damage to one sidewall and it looked like it almost went straight through. He had another on the inside firewall of a second tyre. He is quite philosophical about it.

You can buy a whole Sierra for $800.

I've edited the video I took on the day, will upload it to youtube tomorrow morning.

Mike, the tracks we took were,

Beardmores Tk
Walhalla Rd
Violet Town Tk
Red JacketTk
Poole Tk
TJ Divide Tk
Cream Can Tk
Park Rd
Nine Mile Rd
Link Rd
Mundic Rd (with attempted Torongo firetower side trip)
Ridge Rd

but there are several other tracks in and out of the Jordan and Thomson valleys, some easier, others harder. South of the dam are some alternative tracks too.

Hi Fellas.
In regard to Tonys' damaged tyres. There were several places on the Thompson Dam trip where the edges of the road had been slashed. Remember when we came to a closed gate and had to turn around? The edge of the track had lots of spikes from saplings that had been slashed and left about 2" above the ground.
I have punctured tyres on the same stuff in the past.
