Christmas Party 2013 29 Nov-1 Dec Dixon's Creek
Christmas Camping Weekend
Bill's Block
Friday 29 November to Sunday 1st December
This year we are going to camp on the site of the recently held driver technique day.
Bill's block has a large flat area for camping, with a fire pit. There are no (other) facilities on the properly - this is bush camping. It's a very sheltered valley and is 2WD accessible, so you can bring your road car. However, you may not want to, as there are a number of tracks on the block with varying degrees of hektikness, as you'll see from the photos from Sunday.
There's plenty of space to rig up tarps in the camping area, so if rain was a problem we can sort out shelter. The driving will get better with rain though
There is a dam on the block so if it was hot it might be good for a swim.
I'm pretty sure pets are OK. I will clarify with Bill.
If everyone is happy, I'd suggest a $15 per car fee for the use of the block, as per the technique day.
BYO everything. I think the days of club funded Christmas parties are over.
If anyone has some photos of the camp area and not just cars on their sides, please pop one in here.
One proviso - as per club by-laws - no drinking and driving. A night run through the gullies will be totally mind-bendingly awesome, but we'll have to stay off the beverages until it's done if that's what we want to do. Could be a plan for the Friday.
Steve.

I hadn't predicted demand for pictures of the campsite, I just thought it was funny to record the meeting of the bbqs.
I had no real other shots of the camp site *shrugs*

Looks as I'm going to be away that weekend unfortunately. Should be a great weekend though, the photos from Sunday look great.
Apparently someone tried pretty hard to clear that tree if the foreground, judging up the wire at the top and the tow bar chained to the base. Would love to see the rest of the car.

Just confirming this is confirmed.
Mick and I dropped past the block this morning and had a chat with Bill. He even drove his land rover up the ramp for me
Remember you don't have to camp - you can just come for a day and have a drive.
We'll be there from about 6.30 on the Friday night
Let's start the attending list,
Steve & Seonaid
Mick & Caitlin
