I've offered to lead this as a club trip so if posting it on the public forum is standard practice ok, but everyone would need to realise their vehicle will have to up to scatch and there is a minimum volume of fuel and water to be carried.
Hey Kerry,

I think after hearing the trip run down at the meeting, we might be better to keep this trip in house. It doesnt really sound like a standard club trip to me, and i think that for you (as trip leader), given the more 'extreme' nature of this trip due to its sheer distance from civilization, you will want to have a great than normal say in who can and cannot attend (based on vehicle requirement).

It doesnt sound like my sort of trip, but it definately sounds like an adventure. Enjoy.

Cheers,
Greg

G'day Kerry,
I can't make this trip now, sorry.
Due to upcoming surgery, too close to the event.
(bloody long waiting lists).
So I have spent my holiday savings on some more bits for the Vit.
I think its wise that I do a few more smaller trips,
to check out both the Vitara and my own needs,
before I do bigger trips.
Thanks for the invite, though.
Hope it is a great trip.

Unfortunately due to the weather conditions in south west Queensland, southern NT and SA it looks like there is going to be lots and lots of water coming down the Eyre Creek and through Birdsville in June and as no one has an amphibious Suzuki the trip has been cancelled until this time next year which gives everyone plenty of time to think and prepare and may be we can take a small convoy of Suzukis across next year. Kerry :-(

That is a bugger.
Sorry to hear that.
But a wise call.
I have been in desert floods, not a safe place to be.

I should be right for next years trip.

Hi Chris, the Simpson desert trip still on the cards. The road has only been open since the end of May and the Eyre Creek bypass was being used in June. Spent all of June away NT and SA, spend 4 days at Dalhousie Springs, west end of Simpson desert crossing, track had only been open 2 weeks but everyone seemed to be getting through without problems. Have to look at the finances and a suitable time. Will post some info within a couple of weeks. Kerry

Hi Chris and interested parties
This year is out for me. But I am willing to lead a trip across the desert in April or May 2013. The track reopens march each year so a trip early in the season should be good.Otherwise the same as 2011 plan. If you are interested let me know and I will organize to come down to a meeting to discus the trip.

Next year would work better for me.
And it would give our new touring type members a chance, too.
There has been a few show a bit of interest.

Sounds interesting, good excuse to get some new rubber for the GV.
Would need plenty of notice so I can arrange time off work, etc.
