how legal is it to inset an indicator light into your front-bar so none of it is protruding.
also, how legal is it to set it back 3mm front the front face of your front bar ?
Im thinking of using a conjoined parklight/indicator light/unit but putting 2 holes side by side in the bar so there is a steel section seperating the faces of the light.

Jon
My ARB bar has the lights inset into the bar. They are probably 1 to 2mm inset from the face of the bar. I expect that as long as they can be seen from from an angle it should be Ok but there would be an ADR for it if you knew where to look. If in doubt phone Vicroads, they have been quite helpful when I have phoned them.

I believe these are the standards you need to follow.

From my reading of 6.5.5. and 6.9.5. the light needs to visible to 80 degrees from directly infront (directly beside the car being 90 degrees, if that makes sense), so an indicator light can be recessed a small amount.
