Text Anywhere/inReach/Spot Beacon
A couple of club members were interested in these devices, thought I'd let everyone else know about them. They let you send text messages from a mobile phone via the Iridium satellite network. Cheaper than a voice capable sat phone at $250 for the Spot but they do require subscriptions.
