easiest and cheapest way to fix your problem is to get some transfer gears from Low range off road in the U.S. they also have a high range reduction so will fix your on road gearing. diff gearing usually costs about the same money and doesnt give as effective results off road. You wont need both for...

Its a good price if its a full rebuild kit. If its just the one that often comes with rockhoppers then it might not be a full rebuild.

your right about the dizzy converter, however apparently you can use a mazda 323 and swap some parts around. Steve I'm surprised to hear you talking down revvy engines for a suzuki. with the 6.5:1 gearing a revvy engine is in order. on road some more revs would be nice when overtaking on the highway...
