Found today a track going up the power lines off McClure’s tk in the area where this trip is next week.
With my rear locked sierra on 30's I eventually fell short by 20 mtrs when I diffed out and slipped on to my side.
Forgetting I wasn't in my auto an impromptu clutching helped me self recover.
If any modded car comes along next week this can be slotted in as an entertaining by pass.
May I add that the trip leader will not be taking the group up this, just pointing it out

"slipped on to my side"......does that rate as a "little sleep" or just a scary moment ?

Daryl, what sort of tracks are you looking at doing? Will they be suited to a stock vehicle or will they be better suited to some mild mods?

OK - now I get the picture. :?

So no more comments on my getting a little "off camber" on the McAdams Gap trip ?

Stock will be fine. Martin followed me around on Sunday no problem. I was just exploring some side tracks when I came undone. Carol and the kids are coming Saturday so there will be no surprises. There were a few steepish hills that were a little loose but would not pose much problem even on road tires.
Dust however was real bad. Hope there will be some rain to settle it.

Are you working out which car to take? Oh, to have options. Don’t tell Ross of your conundrum.

My ears are burning......

I now have transfer options - not just 2WD... had to make a new transfer shift mechanism as there was way too much stick movement in the cab to have any hope of getting a boot to seal it up. Looks cool but its totally hidden.

Can highly recommend having a top in a transmission tunnel, its mindboggling just how much hot air comes in - lovely on a hot day ! Also the fumes from oily exhausts etc add a certain "flavor" to the motoring experience.

Want to get it on the dyno before the weekend just to make certain its running OK, but something else is bound to screw up plan X.
