Ute conversion

Hi everyone,
I’m thinking of swapping from 92 maruti mg410w body needing rust repairs, to SJ40t cab and tray in better condition at the moment.
What I’m curious about is the placement of the fuel tank, On the Maruti the tank is behind the rear diff and on the SJ40 it’s on the side of the tray, does anyone think there is an engineering issue with crash or impact zones if I put a tray and fuel tank behind the diff?

No. Suzuki moved the fuel tank in the traybacks to accomodate the spare tyres behind the axle, that’s all. On maruti traybacks the fuel tank was still down the back.

I made a fuel tank and it sits inside the chassis rails, never had a problem getting a RWC on it with that. its super ugly tho and weighs more.
