Here's the requirements for soft top vehicles, might be worth emailing photos of your specific vehicle to the buggy club for confirmation of compliance to ensure that its not knocked back on arrival.
I think April/May would work for me depending on when I end up needing to move house. I think I'd take the Jeep (and lots of fuel).

I have a full cage ie type 5 but no sections O or P. So I'd be knocked back.

April and May are months away - plenty of time to get your car sorted (probably not enough time for Steve to get his car sorted though).
