25NB sounds pretty big - the drag link is ~19mm OD, so 20NB would be a better choice. Split the pipe lengthwise, drop it on, weld it up. Don't weld the pipe to the drag link, you'll just create big stress risers at the welded connections and it will be more likely to break - it's a "loose sleeve"
