no torque

Post by jonfromhamilton »

So i drove my sierra home today. Only just fits in the garage and takes up all the room.
Beth is super unhappy with me its scarey.

Anyway i went over my dandenong via sky high on the way and on ridge rd where it is quite steep the car stalled out on the hill and even 1st gear wouldnt push it up the hill it sounded like it was missing.
In the end i put it in low range and i was able to get going and climb gears.

I dont think it was starving because of the angle.
The best i can describe it there is just no down low torque.

Also i wonder if it is airflowmaybe my intake is only 2"

I think the fuel pump is ok i have a transparent fuel filter before the carby and can see the flow.

Ill have a read in the workshop manual to see if it says anything about the vacuum.

Will consider a carby kit when money is better but probably going to end up a pandoras box lol but not lol
