I'm thinking of putting in a 1.6 Vitara carby engine..

Post by UZI4U »

Hey guys

I can get my hands on a 1.6 carby engine from rocker cover to sump without any bolt ons e.g manifolds, carby etc.

WIll the bolt ons from my 1.3 carby motor fit straight on to a 1.6 carby motor?

I was hoping that it would be a straight forward easy swap.

Please let me know if there is anything I should be aware of.

The 1.3 head will bolt onto the 1.6 block. Problems sorted! You will need an adaptor kit for the gearbox and engine mounts from BenT off auszookers for $200 bucks. Worth doing if you can get it cheap. I'd run a gasket kit through the block before you put it in, always hear of people blowing rear mains and cam shaft seals not long after rebuilds.

Yes your manifolds will fit onto the 1.6 if it's an 8 valve
This will be eazier than swapping heads
