Police tragedy

Post by Jonno »

On behalf of the committee and a valued member, we wanted to say a few words about the recent tragedy regarding the four Victoria Police members:

We know our club members are deeply saddened by the deaths of four Victoria Police officers in the line of service on Wednesday night. These four officers have made the ultimate sacrifice for their community in serving and protecting all of us and its devastating to hear that this has resulted in the loss of their lives.

On behalf of all in the club, our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies are with their families, friends and colleagues who have been devastated by this tragedy, the emergency service workers who attended the scene and indeed all Victoria Police members.

The Premier this morning has asked all Victorians to take a moment today for quiet reflection, to pause and honour every member of Victoria Police for the work that they do and service that they offer.

I know that there are some past and possibly present members who are also members of Victoria Police, or members who have close friends and family in the service and our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. We ask club members today to reach out to police members who may be among your friends, family and networks, to thank and acknowledge them for their dedicated service.

If anyone would like to make a donation to the Blue Ribbon foundation, please visit https://remember.org.au/
The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation perpetuates the memory of members of the Victoria Police who have died in the line of duty through the support of worthwhile community projects within Victoria. We aim to encourage the public of Victoria to remember the sacrifice of officers who have fallen in the line of duty and to show all serving members of Victoria Police that their work and commitment is valued by a caring community.

Hi Fellas.
Well said Jonno. Agree with every word.
A lot of people need a hugg right now, but because of social distancing, they have to get thru it alone.
Regards. Wayne.
