Shadow Paj booked in for air bag recall check on Tuesday.
I better enjoy the next 3 days, just in case.
Hoping it has not got the suspect air bag, or it will be deregistered.
In which case I plan to find a non air bag model to put my bits into.
Whatever ensues they ain't getting my add on goodies.
Maybe zookie time or a L400 :)

Been inspected, photographed and a big form filled out. Info forwarded to Mitsubishi, now waiting for them to contact me with next move or offer.. Defective air bag is fitted they say. They tried real hard to hold onto the Pajero, but I got legalistic and grumpy at them, pointing out they are not Vic Roads or Police officers, so car back home, with an indemnity signed. I start looking around for a non air bag model that I can swap bits too. But hopefully offer be good. Inspection team not involved in that, and can't enter into discussions about it.

That all seems very unfair. Why they can't install a new airbag and instead seem intent on taking shadow away from you. Let's hope you get a good offer.

Nothing confirmed until Mitsi get in contact, not even sure reg be cancelled yet. I think they making it up as they go. Rumors is all I have right now. As long as I get to keep reg, I have a number of remove, leave out or refit airbag options. Just nothing new, which Mitsi think is safest option.

Hey Chris,

I feel for you. My Toyota got taken off me on Friday. Although my car came up at Christmas time I believe its highly unfair to threaten to stop my registration in a short time. Now Suzuki has been added, I'm waiting for my JT vitara to be added. ACCC said there are more cars to be added. I'm cringing.

I find the unknown factor daunting. I need a plan, but a bit hard without any certainty yet.
Newer cars may get replacements, older cars are cheaper to scrap than make new air bags for.

Still no offers or contact from Mr Mitsubishi.
Non air bag model Pajeros suitable for my add ons are getting dearer and disappearing faster now :(
May become less of a viable option as time goes on.
Intriguingly a lot of air bag models are now for sale, with air bag status left out.
Bet they get cheaper.
