Shed Planning

Post by stevend34 »

Hi Guys

I'm looking at putting in a shed. At the moment I’m at square 1; planning out the size, layout, etc. etc. So far size is 9m wide x 7m deep. Wanting the option of a hoist down the track. Who’s up for a conversation? Anyone know of places how have good deals on materials?

Any tips or tricks approaching all this?

D&S Building Supplies
Address: 12 STANLEY Street, Chirnside Park Victoria 3116
Phone: 03 9727 1526

This mob were very helpful whilst building my camper.
Mostly roofing, guttering, flashing supplies.
They do new, 2nd hand recycled, job lots left overs, seconds etc.

Also I have had mates buy complete buildings from demolishion sites etc,
that are able to be disassembled and easily transported, saving money.

Thanks Chris, gave them a buzz, they do the sheeting but not the frame.

Go a bit bigger in size if you can make it work maybe as it allows cars to fit as well as plenty of space to move around.i went 9.5x8.5 and it works well.
After all you can never have a shed that is too big!!

RP Steel in Bayswater is where I get most steel. Don't use a lot, so not sure if prices are good. But service was always good.

Hey Steve,

My shed is 8 x 7.6m so pretty similar in size to what you are planning, welcome to come have a look around as put a bit of thought into it and am pretty happy with it (3 years since it was built)

I also used a home design application I downloaded to lay it all out and see how it would go. You can type in accurate dimensions of everything to see what will and what wont fit. Happy to share my designs with you too if needed.

I am with Damo, any extra size you can squeeze in is worth it!

These guys are good and not very far from you.
If you are building yourself maybe we can do a good ol' barn raising day?

Plan what you want with a shed planning app.
Go to the shed place, get them to do the planning permit and deliver it.
Get a Slab done, Put it up!
