HARD - Yarra State Forest - Sun 20-Sep-2009

Post by Greg »

Hi Team,

Rumour has it that many of the tracks that we enjoy driving in the Yarra State forest (warburton) are not seasonally closed.

Unless anyone corrects me of this between now and then, I intend on running a trip out there in September. here are the current details:

Where - Yarra Junction Supermaket Car Park
When - 9am - Sunday 20-Sep-2009 Date Confirmed as September 20th (as of 10-Sep)
What - Yarra State Forest Tracks - Cemetary, Ellis and everything in-between.
With - a medium rating (based on new rating system). there will be plenty of ruts, plenty of mud and plenty of fun.

Gauge your interest levels here, and i will bring a trip sheet along to the September Club meeting to finalise numbers.

Cheers,
Greg

I got onto the MudRhino forum last night for a bit of a look-see... they have some very recent shots of Ellis track from last week and it is seriously looking the goods... heavily chopped out... the rocky sections towards the top end of the track are looking awesome with the rocks now very exposed...

I'm thinking that between Cemetary, Britannia Creek, Britannia Creek Side track (ring and pinion killer track), Justice and Ellis we are going to have a huge day... HUGE!!!

I might even consider brining some recovery gear along

I found this recent vid the other night on youtube, looks pretty good (there's actually 3 videos)

I'll come on the trip too, so long as it hasn't rained too much before, I don't want my little 30's holding up the whole trip.

george is getting excited!!!

i haven't seen your car Brendan, but i'm sure that we can cater for you... from the look of things, it's just going to be a day of mud, slippery hills and more mud...
