Re: SJ30s

That hadn’t occurred to me Mitch. Good point. Also, very few people would have the space for a trailer and tow car so they need road reg.

There are stories of people building a new car every two years because they can’t get their mods through the Shaken.

Re: Expression of intrerest for High Country Lite

This was a very popular and commonly run trip back when I started 4WDing. Highly recommend. I wouldn't recommend the drive between the bluff and the Howitt high planes on King Billy track if it's anything like it used to be in the late 90's - really rocky and rough without being challenging and just...

Re: Rear Recovery Point for JB43 Jimny

Hi Willy Normal practice would be to use a tow bar if you have one. While they're not perfect, they do equalise load across both chassis rails. I would never add a separate recovery point for the rear of a vehicle that was fitted with a tow bar, it's just duplication. If you don't have a tow bar and...

Re: Suzuki Sierra Carby Troubleshooting

There's really too many variables here. In general, the best advice is to get hold of a factory service manual, it explains how to correctly setup the carb, especially the choke. Despite what everyone says, these are not very complex carbs (in terms of external adjustment) and aren't "full of e...

Re: Measuring cylinder size

I would have thought 1.00 was 1.0mm over stock. That should be easy to measure with a vernier on the top of the block. As Mitch points out, g13’s are open deck and ovalise their bores. If the bores are already +1 then I don’t think you can rebore. Unfortunately G13’s don’t respond to a hone- they’ll...

Sounds like the fuel tank spur purge to me. Only explanation for it to run after the engine has stopped.

Re: off-road tyres for 2021 jimny

The 2" lift isn't relevant - It only changes the rest point of the suspension, not the range of motion, so when the suspension flexes the tyres can (and do) still move into the same positions they could before the lift was fitted. 215 75 15 is the tallest legal tyre you can fit - it's 28" ...

Re: Christmas Social night- Friday 16th December

Edit- note I meant Friday the 16th.

Current plan is $25 per head for food- (this is a work in progress) eating across the whole menu.

It’s locked in.
